Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People are currently advertising for an Intern and the role of Connector Support for Enabling Good Lives (EGL) Christchurch.
EGL Intern
This role would be perfect for someone who is just starting out on their employment journey and who has an interest in connecting with the disabled community.
They will have good writing and communication skills and a keen desire to learn more. The role itself can be tailored to suit the successful candidate’s areas of interest and experience. An employment plan for life beyond the internship will be developed during the year.
Internship criteria:
• You may have little experience in paid employment but you are highly motivated
• You are legally permitted to work in New Zealand without restrictions on hours
• You’ll be open to opportunities to work alongside EGL Christchurch’s community based partners

EGL Connector Support
An additional Connector Support is sought to assist the high performing EGL team of Connectors / Kaitūhono who work with young disabled people and whānau in the Christchurch / Selwyn / Waimakariri regions.
The Connector Support role is the first point of contact for disabled people and whānau enquiring about Enabling Good Lives. The Connector Support role is to provide information, advice and connections that would enable people to link with EGL, and/or with disability and community services and organisations.
This role can provide a pathway to future employment opportunities.
The EGL team is diverse, inclusive, and aims to reflect the population they serve. Disabled people are encouraged to apply.
