Parliament’s Environment Committee is looking into how communities in New Zealand could adapt in areas of high risk from climate change, including ahead of any natural disasters, and how this could be funded.

The two-decade-old Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002 is being replaced with the Emergency Management Bill. The Bill will create the new legal framework within which Aotearoa New Zealand can prepare for, deal with, and recover from local, regional and national emergencies.

Auckland Council is asking for feedback on a draft paper about their open space, sport and recreation policy framework.

DPA is currently writing a submission for the Electricity Authority on the review of their Consumer Care Guidelines. The Guidelines cover issues like what power companies should do to support customers struggling with high bills and protecting medically dependent customers.
