Update 22 July 2022 - Easy Read now available:

Local elections are coming up so now is the time for everyone to make sure you are enrolled so that you can have their say on who represents you in local, district and regional councils. Once you are enrolled, you can vote from 16 September to 8 October.

You need to ensure your information is updated, this includes having your correct address and contact details. This enables you to vote for candidates in your area. It is a requirement for all New Zealanders over the age of 18 to be enrolled.

Online Enrolment
You can enrol or update your information online. The online form will ask you for a form of identification such as a passport or drivers license. If you don't have these forms of identification you can still enrol without them.

Hardcopy forms
You can download the enrolment forms for you or someone you support. You can also request for a form to be sent out to you by calling 0800 36 76 56 or texting 3676 - just provide your name and address and your form will be sent to you.

If you need support or are supporting someone to enrol there is information for people who need help to enrol.

How to return a form
Once you have filled out the form then you again have various options on how to return it. The quickest is to upload the enrolment form. Alternately, you can email your form to enrol@vote.nz
