DPA have made a submission to the Waikato Regional Council on their Regional Passenger Transport Plan 2022-2032.
DPA welcomes the draft plan’s objectives and the emphasis placed on the need for accessibility.
We made several recommendations to further strengthen the plan including: that disabled people in Waikato’s rural centres have equitable access to accessible transport services; that all bus stops have full weather protection; that tactile strips be placed at all bus stops; that information be available in accessible formats; and that all supporting transport infrastructure is built to Universal Design standards.
