DPA Bubble Hui - Looking towards the establishment of the new Ministry for Disabled People
Come along to our next Bubble Hui on Saturday 11 June and join us in a discussion around what has happened so far towards the establishment of the new Ministry for Disabled People, and what your hopes are for the Ministry in the future.
Gerri Pomeroy (Co-Chair of the Establishment Unit Governance Group and former DPA President) will join us to talk about her roles in the establishment of the new ministry, the process so far, and what will happen on July 1 when the Ministry actually becomes an entity.
We’re interested to hear any questions you have – if Gerri can answer them she will, and any she can’t we’ll note down and send to Establishment Unit staff for response.
Of course when the Ministry is established on July 1, it will be just the beginning of a new journey. We’re keen to hear your concerns, thoughts, hopes and ideals for what you would like to see from the new Ministry, as well as the national roll-out of Enabling Good Lives and Accessibility Legislation that sit alongside.
When: Saturday 11 June
What time: 1pm-2.30pm
Where: Zoom (all current members will be emailed a link)
- NZSL interpreters will be present at this event
- This is a national event and members from around the country are invited to attend

About our Bubble Hui
Our Bubble Hui started in 2020 during the first Level 4 lock-down as a way for members to meet and discuss current issues online via Zoom. As we found them a great way to connect with our members around the country, we have been continuing them on a regular basis and now choose a different topic to discuss each time.
