Disabled Leadership Now online protest

Following the appointment of a non-disabled director to set up the Ministry for Disabled People, a grassroots collective of disabled people have come together to form Disability Leadership Now to protest the appointment and aiming to ensure disabled people lead the ministry.

Disabled people are invited to join an online protest tomorrow

The rally will be entirely online, have automatic captioning and be NZSL interpreted. You can let the organisers know of any other access needs you have when registering.

Petition

There is also a petition asking the House of Representatives to ensure the Ministry for Disabled people is led and run by disabled people, to ensure disabled people are in leadership roles and their rights are upheld.
