Access to Testing
We know that many disabled people who are close contacts of confirmed cases are struggling to access testing sites for various reasons - a lack of accessible bathrooms for those experiencing long waiting times; a lack of transport; people unable to safely or comfortably stand or wait in long queues; and some disabled people requiring home testing.
If you are unable to access a testing station, you may be able to get free transport to a testing site or a Covid-19 test at your home. To see if this can happen you can either contact your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453.
The Ministry of Health say that DHBs have mobile teams available to provide testing and many are providing direct transport to testing - however there is no centralised information available on national mobile testing capacity.
