Auckland Pride Festival 2024 funds accessible events
Pride is for everyone. In this spirit, this year’s Auckland Pride Festival has boosted its accessibility for disabled people through an Access Pride Fund initiative, with the help of core funding partner, Funding North.
With guidance from Arts Access Aotearoa, Auckland Pride has created accessibility guidelines that outline what event organisers can do to make their events more accessible. The Access Pride Fund then gave monetary support to event organisers who needed it to help remove financial barriers for accessibility.
The aim is to increase the accessibility of the events at the festival and, in turn, increase the participation of disabled people in Pride.
